The New Wave of Early Detection Breast Exams

Bexa is a medical device that uses elastography performed with ultra-accurate sensors to detect abnormal breast masses including breast cancer. Elastography is the process of identifying abnormal tissues based upon their hardness - all abnormal tissues are harder than all normal tissues, and cancers are especially hard.

The Bexa solution integrates elastography for detecting abnormal masses, with confirmation of and evaluation of those masses by ultrasound, all done during a single examination that requires 15 minutes. Here’s why we like and offer Bexa:

Sensitive.

Current evidence demonstrates that Bexa is the most sensitive mass detection technology (89+%), including for small masses, compared to the sensitivity of other traditional techniques and technologies of clinical breast exam (65%), ultrasound (84%) and screening mammograms (70 to 79%).

Low False Positives.

The Bexa process creates fewer false positive results than other technologies - following a Bexa examination only 4% of women require additional imaging studies, compared to 15% or more for women undergoing screening mammograms.

Our experience is that 95% of women experiencing a Bexa exam are very happy with the process. The Bexa process is painless, doesn’t involve radiation, can be performed at the worksite or in a near-site location, and provides women with immediate results. Among women who refuse traditional screening, Bexa adoption has neared 100%.

Bexa exams cost a fraction of the cost of traditional imaging procedures. Combined with the low rate of referrals generated by Bexa exams, early detection within a population using Bexa costs 72% less than other options. And more early detection means fewer late stage and expensive cancers.

Who’s eligible for a Bexa exam?

Every woman can have a Bexa exam, at any age. Bexa is specifically for those women who refuse, or do not qualify for traditional breast cancer screening including:

Women who refuse mammograms, or chose to not seek early detection examinations from traditional healthcare sites like hospitals and clinics.

Women ages 40-49 who are not referred for mammograms because of confusing or mis-understood guidance.

African American women 35-39 as they are at increased risk for breast cancer compared to the rest of the population, and being diagnosed with cancers 3 - 4 years earlier.

Younger women who wish to have a breast examination.
